Tough start in NYC

Hopefully our trust number 5 Scotty Elarton can stop the bleeding as the Tribe continues their pattern of losing in bunches. Three 4-game losing streaks in the last 5 weeks makes it tough to catch the Twinkies and Sox.

Betancourt suspended for 'Roids

I love this quote:

"I am very angry and disappointed with Major League Baseball's decision to suspend me,"

Down on the farm....

FARM FACTS -- Aaron Laffey delivered a complete game, giving up no earned runs (one total) and three hits, but Lake County lost 1-0 to Delmarva in Class A.... In only his sixth game at Class A Mahoning Valley, Stephen Head hit his third home run in a 6-5 loss to Jamestown. Joe Ness worked five innings, giving up one unearned run.

Call-ups

Brian Tallet is up from AAA, and the buzz is that B 'sippin' on the haterade' Phillips might be coming up after the Cora trade. Segue>

Alex Cora headed to Beantown

The Tribe got Ramon Vazquez from the Sox in exchange for Cora who has been a non-factor since April. A plus is that we dumped Cora's 1.4mil salary for next year, which could free up room to bring Russel Branyan back in '06. The scoop on Vazquez is that Shapiro has been trying to get him for 2 years. He was hitting .197 at the time of trade.
